(NewsDakota.com) After playing their first District 1 contest two weeks ago, the Oakes High School girls basketball team returns to district play Thursday night as they travel to Fairmont to play winless Fairmont-Campbell-Tintah.
Oakes (5-6) is coming off a 63-46 loss to Langford South Dakota on Tuesday night, after winning the last three games in a row. The Rebels (0-9) have more eighth graders on their team than any other class, with five players on the varsity roster. Only one player averages more than 10 points a game; sophomore Paige Meyer averages 11.8 points per game.
