CITY (NewsDakota.com)–The Hi-Liner wrestling team is in action tonight hosting Fargo South at the Hi-Liner Activity Center.
The Hi-Liners are still searching for their first Eastern Dakota Conference (EDC) dual win. They are 4-8 overall in duals, but 0-6 in EDC wrestling, and have been struggling with a short lineup.
Fargo South is 1-4 in EDC competition, 2-8 in dual action overall.
Two young Hi-Liners, both participating at times at the varsity level, won state championships at the junior high level during the North Dakota state junior high tournament last weekend.
Jake Ashline, wrestling 105 at the junior high event, was never challenged in four matches, winning two by technical fall and two by pin for a title.
Jordan Magnuson won two tight decisions to capture the 134-pound title, including a 3-2 win over Billy Holtan of Carrington in the final match.
The Hi-Liners had only six competitors, but finished 11th as a tam with 73 points.
The varsity match tonight begins at 7:00 p.m. Live coverage will be heard on KOVC-AM 1490, with prematch beginning at 6:40 p.m.
