FORKS (NewsDakota.com)- Coach Greg Ulland made a return trip to his old stomping grounds to take on the University of North Dakota last night in Grand Forks. Ulland was an assistant under long-time Sioux coach Gene Roebuck for four seasons before returning to his alma mater as the head coach.

Jamestown gave the Sioux everything they could handle, but in the end the defensive pressure of a Division I team was just too much. The Jimmies lost 57-47.

“Its a different beast at this level,” Ulland said after the game last night talking about the defensive pressure that UND was able to create.

Neither team shot the ball very well, their were 50 missed shots in the first half with the teams combining to shoot 17-67 from the field.

The Sioux took a 24-18 lead into the break following a couple late baskets.

Jamestown couldn’t get over the hump in the second-half, they had it down to four or six on multiple occasions but the Sioux defensive pressure wouldn’t allow them any closer.

Bridget Shuneman finished with 12 points to lead JC.

Century High School alum, Madi Buck, led the Sioux with 15.

This game counted as an exhibition for the Jimmies so they keep their record at 17-3. UND improves to 8-9.

Up next Jamestown will travel to Madison, SD to take on Dakota St. University. The game will tip-off at 4pm with the men’s game to follow.
