(NewsDakota.com) – Scott Burnham scored 17 points and Austin Johnson added 13 as the Carrington boys basketball team held off the Midkota Mustangs 51-48 Thursday night in Carrington.

Midkota’s Austin Monson led all scorers with 20 points, and Alex Miller added 10 for the Mustangs in defeat.

Carrington jumped out to an 11-6 lead after the first quarter, and extended it to 42-35 entering the fourth quarter.

Up next: Carrington hosts Central Prairie on Saturday in Carrington.
