N.D (NewsDakota.com)- A trip to Rapid City, South Dakota netted a pair of wins for each of the Jimmie basketball teams.

They opened the trip with wins over former DAC foes, SD Mines. The women got things going with a 56-51 win. Kellie Schueman (13) and Carly Jensen (11) were the lone Jimmies in double-figures.

Despite a poor shooting night the difference in the game was Jamestown College’s ability to knock down the three. The sharp-shooting Jensen buried three of her own.

The women finished off the trip with a 115-28 thrashing of Oglala Lakota College. Improving their record to 17-2 and will be back on the road Thursday night in Grand Forks to take on UND. The game will be broadcast on KQDJ-AM 1400 with the pregame at 5:45pm.

Travis Burley led the Jimmies over SD Mines on the men side with a double-double in the 77-70 win. He finished with 21 points and 14 boards.

Davon Thomas picked up right where he left off at the end of the game against Dakota St., with 17 points, including knocking down a trio of three-pointers.

B.J. Mertens and Bryon Jones have turned up the heat on their play as well, both finishing with double-figures.

The men rolled over Oglala 107-65 in the finale to return home with the sweep.

The next contest for the men will be on Saturday, back in South Dakota, against Dakota. St. Tip-off is scheduled for 6pm. The action can be heard on KQDJ-AM 1400.
