MN (NewsDakota.com)–The Viking men picked up in Morris, MN, right where they left off in Winnipeg last week.

Fresh off of a championship in the Wesmen Classic in Winnipeg, the Vikings crushed the University of Minnesota-Morris 87-53 at Jim Gremmel Court Wednesday night.

The Viking defense forced 27 turnovers, while the offense shot 58.7% from the field. The Cougars became the second straight opponent to be beaten by 30 points or more. Valley City State defeated Brandon University 90-58 in the Wesmen Classic in the tournament final on Friday.

Four Vikings hit double figures, with a pair of freshman having big nights. Sekani Milligan (Jr., Fort Lauderdale, FL) scored 23 points in limited minutes, as he hit first half foul trouble. Aaron Duske (So., Buffalo, MN) scored 14.

Freshman Jason Perkins (Shakopee, MN) scored 15 points off the bench in one of his best nights as a Viking. Another freshman, Chris Embden (Plantation, FL) scored six off the bench and made big contributions. Sylvester Walker (Sr., St. Paul, MN) scored 13 points.

The Vikings have now won eight straight games, and 12 of their last 13. They improve to 14-4, and will face the University of Sioux Falls in Sioux Falls, SD Saturday afternoon.
