N.D. (AP) – Fargo police say they’re investigating a rash
of car and garage break-ins that occurred late Christmas Eve into
early Christmas Day. Authorities say thieves stole items from cars
and unlocked garages. They even broke a car window to remove a
present.
     
WHEATLAND, N.D. (AP) – Authorities say a Wheatland man who was
burning grass from ditches accidentally burned down his barn on
Sunday. The structure was considered a total loss, although Cass
County investigators say nothing valuable was inside.     
 
WILLISTON, N.D. (AP) – The Williston City Commission is set to
vote today on a plan to purchase a permanent stake in an apartment
building in order to help house city employees. The city could
spend up to $350,000 to buy control of a dozen or more apartments.
Officials hope the housing will help them recruit new employees.     
    
FARGO, N.D. (AP) – The mercury rose to record-high levels
yesterday in Fargo and Grand Forks. It reached 51 degrees by noon
in Fargo, smashing the record of 45 degrees that was set in 1959.
It was 48 degrees yesterday morning in Grand Forks. The previous
record was 42.
