Jamestown, N.D….The 2011 Blue Jay homecoming football game will be played on Friday night at Gates Field versus the number one team in the state, as undefeated Bismarck comes to town.
Jamestown will attempt to pull the big upset, as the Demons are 5-0, and the Jays are winless at 0-5. Jamestown is coming off back to back shutouts, and has been outscored this season 233-29. Bismarck has put up 207 points and allowed only 45.
The Jays will switch up somethings with the personnel on offense, as starting Senior QB Brady Anderson will shift to a wide out position, and Junior Matt Grounds will get his first start of the season under Center. Head coach Bill Cahill says the move is being made to give the Jays more options offensively “We are looking to add another threat at wide out, and teams will have to honor that.” Jamestown went to this formation late in the 50-0 defeat at Bismarck Century last week, and Grounds found Anderson for a 30 yard completion.
Despite the disappointing record, Cahill says the team is looking forward to homecoming “There’s always excitement about homecoming. It gives former students and alumni a chance to come back and reunite with past classmates and teammates.”
