CITY (NewsDakota.com)–The Hi-Liner volleybal team is back in Eastern Dakota Conference (EDC) action tonight at home, hosting Grand Forks Central.
Valley City enters play 1-6 in the EDC, a game-and-a-half ahead of both Devils Lake and Fargo South for the eighth-place position, and a game behind Wahpeton and Central for sixth place. The top six teams enter regional play without play-ins.
Tonight’s match could go a long way toward keeping Valley City at home in the play-in round, if not getting them out of the match. With a win over Devils Lake already this year, and Wahpeton still to play, earning two EDC points tonight would give the Hi-Liners a solid edge.
The Knights are on a roll, winning their last four matches, including 3-2 wins over South and Wahpeton, and a sweep of Devils Lake Tuesday night. The Hi-Liners were swept by West Fargo Tuesday night after defeating Devils Lake 3-1 at home last Thursday.
First serve is scheduled for 7:00 p.m., with prematch coverage beginning at 6:35 p.m. on KOVC AM 1490.
