Jamestown, N.D…It’s only fitting that the Dakota Athletic Conference football players of the week come from Valley City State and Jamestown College, as the two teams prepare to lock horns in the annual “Paint Bucket” game on Saturday in Valley City.
The DAC has named Jimmie RB Lance Johansen as it’s offensive player of the week. The Junior from Devils Lake rushed for 127 yards on just ten carries, and two touchdowns. He added five receptions for 51 yards and a TD, as the Jimmies defeated Mayville State 35-13.
For the second week in a row, Cody Kilthau of Valley City State is the DAC defensive player of the week. The Senior DB from Miliani, Hawaii had two interceptions, returned one for a touchdown, came up with seven solo tackles, as the Vikings won at South Dakota Tech 29-17.
The Jimmies and Vikings will meet for the 107th time in Valley City on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.. Valley City is 3-1, and on a three game winning streak, the Jimmies are 2-2. Jamestown has won the past five match-ups, including a 19-13 victory last season.
