CITY  (NewsDakota.com)–The Hi-Liner girls golf team is officially in the mix.

Valley City bounced back from a rough day at Rose Creek last week, finishing eighth with a 403 at Village Green Tuesday.

More impressively, the Hi-Liners finished just seven shots back of sixth-place Grand Forks Central.  Sixth place at the Eastern Dakota Conference (EDC) regional sends them to the state meet as a team.

One Hi-Liner golfer already punched her ticket for the state meet.  Erika Anderson finished with an 85, tied for fifth individually, and, with the meet acting as a state qualifier for individuals, sends her on to the big stage.  All golfers finishing at par-to 15 shots above qualified.

Fargo Davies was again the team titleist, finishing with a 342, 13 ahead of Fargo North.  JoDee Wheeler of Grand Forks Red River was the medalist, scoring a 78.

For the Hi-Liners, Kassidy Ronningen shot a 100, Sara Gilbertson a 105, and Nicole Spenningsby a 113.

The Hi-Liners were coached by boys golf coach Buff Murray, who filled in for head coach Jim McDaniel.

Next action for the Hi-Liners is Tuesday, September 13th, at Kings Walk in Grand Forks.
