N.D.(NewsDakota.com)….Day two of the 2011 State Amateur Baseball Tournament is in the books.

The second round of the Single “A” Division took place Thursday night at Jack Brown Stadium, as Central Plains Coyotes picked up a pair of wins and advanced to the title game on Sunday.

The Coyotes beat Tolna 4-1, behind the pitching of Aaron Backer, and topped Fargo-Moorhead Spartans in the night cap 6-1, behind Gavin Black. Central Plains heads to the title game on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. versus an opponent to be determined.

Friday’s games will have Beulah-Hazen playing Fargo-Moorhead Metros at 5:30 p.m., and Jamestown Greyhounds against Beulah-Hazen at 7:30 p.m.. One of these teams will advance to the championship game Sunday, and face Central Plains.

Double “A” action will get going at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, with six games scheduled. Enderlin and Farimount will play the first game of the day, followed by Jamestown Silver Bullets and Kindred, Valley City versus Fairview, Thompson battles Groton, S.D., and Semi-Final round games will take place at 6:00 p.m., and 8:00 p.m.. The championship game for the Double “A” Division will be Sunday at 3:00 p.m..
