N.D.–On Friday, at approximately 4:24 p.m., members of the North Dakota Highway Patrol. Cass County Sheriff’s Office and Horace Fire Department responded to a vehicle collision at the County Road 14 overpass of I-29 exit 56.
The 2003 Dodge Ram driven by Charles Howington of Fargo was exiting off of I-29 at exit 56 southbound. The Rogator Chemical Applicator driven by Steven Haux of Kindred was traveling eastbound on County Road 14. Howington failed to yield at the top of the exit ramp at the junction of County Road 14 and hit Haux at a 90 degree angle. The collision caused Haux to roll onto its passenger side. After the collision, the vehicle continued south and came to rest in the west ditch of the on-ramp of exit 56 southbound.
Both drivers were transported by ambulance to Sanford Hospital. Injuries sustained were non-life threatening in nature.
Howington was cited for DUI, DUS and a stop sign violation.
The crash remains under investigation.
