CITY  (NewsDakota.com)–Wahpeton Post 20 has advanced to the Section 1 American Legion baseball tournament’s final day for the second straight year.

Wahpeton defeated Kindred 4-3, sending Kindred to today’s loser-out play, and moving themselves to a final day Saturday, where they will have two opportunities to clinch the championship and advance to state.

A year ago, they were beaten by Valley City twice in the same day, missing their chance to go to the state tournament after being moved to Class B for the first time.

Today’s games feature Valley City and Enderlin at 3:00 p.m., with Kindred facing the winner at 6:00 p.m.  Wahpeton will face the team that advances from today’s action on Saturday.  All three teams in action today would need to defeat Wahpeton twice Saturday to claim the title, while Wahpeton would need only one win.

Both games today will be broadcast on The Raven 103.1 FM.
