City, N.D. –The cost to repair the historic band shell in City park just got a little more expensive after the second historic flood hit Valley City in two years

Parks and Recreation director Tyler Jacobson says the structures repair bill jumped from $38,000 to $210,000 according to an engineers estimate.

Jacobson says he’s working with FEMA to see if the cost share portion which jumped from $6,000 to $40,000 can be reduced.

The floods of 2009 and 2011 shifted the Band Shell structure a few inches off its foundation.
