second of two suspects from Jamestown in the death of an 18 year old Somali refugee pleaded not guilty in Southeast District Court in Jamestown on Monday. 22 year old Janelle Cave of Jamestown was charged with murder in addition to criminal conspiracy in the death of Abdi Ali Ahmed. Cave waved her right to a preliminary hearing.
The other suspect in the case, 34 year old Leron Howard of Jamestown also faces the same charges, both of which are Class AA Felonies. Howard pleaded not guilty in on Thursday.
Ahmed’s body was found around mid day on April 30 in a ditch near Spiritwood and Stutsman County Road 62, about a mile north of I-94.
A conviction on a Class AA Felony can lead to a sentence as high as life in prison without parole.
