The Jimmie baseball team is in Joliet, Illinois for a NAIA National Tournament Thursday through Sunday.
The winner of this five team tourney will advance to the NAIA World Series later this month in Idaho.

It’s no surprise that the Jimmies won the DAC title, as the stats speak for themselves. Jamestown led the conference in batting average, .336, slugging percentage, .503, runs scored, 324, runs scored per game, 7.5, hits, 454, hits per game, 10.5, home runs, 46, and stolen bases, 79.
Jamestown in 10th in the nation in batting average, 13th in slugging percentage, 13th in runs scored, 11th in hits, and 14th in home runs.
The pitching has been equally impressive, as the Jimmies led the conference in E.R.A., 4.01, opponents batting average, .248, innings pitched, 321, strike outs, 342, hits allowed, 302, runs allowed, 172.
Jamestown is 18th in the country in opponents batting average, 11th in hits allowed, 10th in runs allowed.
Defense has been a key to success as well, as Jamestown led the DAC in fielding percentage at .963, committing only 52 errors on 1406 chances.
Individual numbers are impressive as well, as the Jimmies just put seven players on the all conference team.
All-Conference Senior outfielder Jesse Ramirez is third in the DAC in batting average at .434, and first in RBI with 50. His .434 batting average is 18th in the nation.
Senior All-Conference right handed pitcher Alex Kries led the conference in E.R.A., at 2.43, opponents batting average at .203, and strike outs with 67.
All-Conference third baseman Griffin Sweazy led the DAC in fielding at 1.000. The Senior had no errors in 199 chances.
Head coach Tom Hager says his team is peaking at the right time “This is an exciting and special time, I think we are playing our best baseball of the season right now.”
The Jimmies, 32-11-1, are the bottom seed, and will face Robert Morris, Illinois in the opening round on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. “Anytime you get to this point, you know you are going to play against great teams. We will need to play good baseball.”
The Eagles have a record of 37-17.
Oklahoma Baptist is the top seed for this tourney with a record of 42-12, and they are ranked fourth in the country.
The tournament format is double elimination.
