Jamestown Police Department wants to warn residents regarding a convicted sex offender living in the city. 35 year old James Thompson III is currently residing at the Buffalo City Motel #22, and has been assigned a high risk assessment by the North Dakota Risk Level Committee.

Mr. Thompson was convicted in 2004 in Stutsman County District Court of videotaping a 21 year old girl having sex with a 15 year old boy, and showing the video to everyone he knew. Mr. Thompson is not wanted by police and has served the sentence imposed by the court.
