VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Valley City held Lisbon scoreless for the first 4:48 of the game, And held them to just three points for the first 15 minutes of the gameon the way to a 55-37 win Friday night at the HAC in girls basketball.

Valley City jumped out to a 9-0 lead, until Olivia Tuhy hit a 3-pointer with 13:12 remaining on the half. They did not get their second bucket until there was less than 3 minutes left in the half. Overall the Hi-Liners used a 17-0 run to take a 26-3 lead. But Lisbon would end the first half on a 10-2 run and started the second half on a 10-2 run to get to within 30-23. But the Hi-Liner defense pulled stiffened up and held the Broncos to 14 points the  rest of the way.

Jadyn Dieterle led the Hi-Liners with 16 points, seven rebounds and four steals. Brooke Eggermont had 12 of her 13 points in the first half. Lindsey Noeske finished with nine points and nine rebounds. Dylann Diegel chipped in six points off the bench and Peyton Pederson added five points.

Kendra Odegard was the lone Bronco in double figures with 10 points. Taylor Gilbert had justs two points but grabbed a game high 11 rebounds.

Valley City is now 2-1 on the year and Lisbon falls to 1-3.
