VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Valley City Rural Fire District crews responded to grass fires, a combine fire and a semitrailer that tipped over on I-94 on May 15th.
Fire Chief Scott Magnuson said a strong gust of wind lifted a semitrailer on to its side around 8:40pm on Wednesday night near mile marker 290 in the westbound lane of I-94. Valley City Police officers, Barnes County Sheriff’s Deputies and the Highway Patrol rerouted traffic until the semitrailer was cleared from the Interstate. The semi driver was not injured.
Magnuson said fire crews responded to a combine fire near Luverne, ND and shortly after a grass fire east of Valley City near exit 294 south of I-94 on Wednesday afternoon. He said fire crews were called out to a rural residence west of Valley City for a grass fire Wednesday night just before 6pm.
Magnuson said on Tuesday, May 14th a pickup burned in a grass fire southeast of Valley City. No injuries reported in these grass fires and no structures burned in either of these incidents.
