(NewsDakota.com) A scary scene occurred Monday afternoon at a gas station and convenience store in Oakes.

A pickup truck was filling up around 2 p.m. at the Circle R, located at 305 Seventh Street North, when something in the engine caught fire.

The station and store’s owner, Craig Rhyan told KDDR radio that the fire quickly spread to the pump the pickup was parked next to, damaging the pump. Rhyan says the pump will have to be replaced.

No injuries were reported.
