(NewsDakota.com) After a pickup caught fire and was quickly contained on the north side of Oakes on Thursday evening, the Oakes Fire, Police and Ambulance Departments responded to their second report of a pickup truck fire in as many days on Friday afternoon; this time south of town along North Dakota Highway 1 near the Dickey County town of Ludden. 

Sources tell NewsDakota.com that the driver was traveling in the area when the engine started to catch fire. Crews responded to the scene close to 2 p.m. on Friday. 

No injuries were reported, however, unlike the previous night’s pickup fire, the pickup in Friday’s fire was a total loss.
